MORGAN'S PREPARATORY CIRRICULUM
PRE-K CIRRICULUM
MPA’s curriculum is centered to create well rounded scholars. We use an interactive approach to interact and engage each child. Our classrooms are small to ensure we provide each scholar with the necessary individualized attention he/she may need.
MPA offers the following classes:

SCIENCE
COMPUTER BASED LEARNING
SPANISH/SIGN LANGUAGE
SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL LEARNING
READING PROGRAM
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLASSES (EVERY WEDNESDAY):

S.T.E.M. PROGRAM
(SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGENIEERING, MATH)
HOMEWORK:
Every scholar will receive homework on a weekly basis as well as a monthly themed/science project. Homework and projects are MANDATORY and must be passed in daily. It is an important component of the progress reports and are worth 15% of their science grade.
READING PROGRAM:
A new book will be chosen by the scholar on a continues weekly basis. Each scholar will choose a new book from the public library. Along with reading a book of the week, each scholar will give a class presentation on their understanding of the book that was read. Every book and presentation will be aged appropriate and on the scholar’s level. The book of the week along with the class presentation will be 50% of their Language Arts grade. The reading program is an important program at MPA. Not only does it encourage each scholar to become comfortable readers, but it also encourages parent and children bonding time. Parents will have to assist their scholars with reading each book.
PROGRESS/SERVICE REPORTS:
Progress and Service reports are given quarterly, December, April and June. The Service reports assess the child’s developmental and physical milestones while the progress reports will evaluate the child’s progress in each separate class. Parent-Teacher conferences are accompanied with the Progress/Service reports and is a requirement. Conferences will be either in person or via zoom.
Parents will be notified before of all conferences.
Morgan’s Early Childhood Academy believes parents and teachers should assist each other to ensure the development of each child. All academic work/projects will be aged appropriate to ensure all scholars are learning on their level.
HOLIDAY BREAKS/CLOSURES:
During the extended holiday breaks scholars will receive an academic packet that will be mandatory to be completed and returned. This practice is to assist the scholars retain what they’ve learned. During summer break the scholars will receive an academic summer packet along with a reading list.
